For Christmas, Santa decided that our family needed a Wii.
This is how it happened...
Once upon a very early Black Friday, Santa battled the crowds and the lines, carefully mapping out her route, to ensure that there would be a Wii under the See family Christmas tree. Santa was in luck because there was only one left at Fred Meyer and she snagged it, took it home, wrapped it beautifully and placed it under the tree. Along with the Wii, there was also the extra controls, accessories and games.
Christmas morning came and: we unwrapped the Wii!!! Whee!
If only our story ended here.
But it doesn't.
The next morning, Clarke set to work installing the Wii.
He unpacked the components and cords, noting how unusually battered the Wii itself appeared. He attempted to push the buttons without success as they would not push. He examined the scrapes along the body of the Wii and finally, dreadfully, examined the fan which was FULL OF DUST.
Clearly this was not a NEW Wii.
What.The.Crap???????
Santa paid for a NEW Wii!!!!!!!!!!
One phone call to the store and a frantic search for the missing receipt yielded bad news:
Fred Meyer would not exchange the system without a receipt!
Unh!
Luckily, modern technology tracks credit card purchases and we were able to finagle a "receipt" of sorts from the credit card account. Whew!
Clarke returned the Wii back to Fred Meyer and explained the dilemma, waving the credit card statement as proof of Santa's purchase. Upon careful examination, the Fred Meyer employee(s) discovered that *gasp* the serial numbers did not match!
Do you know what this means????
Some DISHONEST CRIMINAL THIEF LOSER bought a brand-spankin' new Wii for their house to replace their broken down, dusty and battered Wii. They placed the old unit in the new Wii box, repackaged everything to make it look like new, took it back to the store for a full refund. Whatever Fred Meyer PINHEAD accepted the return did not check for serial numbers and the DISHONEST CRIMINAL THIEF LOSER got himself a new Wii for nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
It wasn't our fault and Fred Meyer did the right thing by giving us a NEW Wii in exchange
(and yes, the serial numbers match! Whew!).
Happy ending, right??
Not so fast.

This is probably an opportune time to remind you that we have a rockin' entertainment system that Clarke won through Theater Extreme, a few years ago. 92 inch screen, hd projector, AMAZING sound...
Turns out the Wii doesn't do the whole HDMI hookup thing and our beastly entertainment system is highly complicated all-HDMI.
*Insert big, fat sigh here*
So, to make a long story appropriately long, we had to have the Wii professionally installed!
You read correctly, folks, PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED.
We called our friends at Theater Xtreme, who designed and installed our custom entertainment system to help us install the Wii. They came out 2 days later and installed it at no charge.
Bless you wonderful people at Theater Xtreme!
And that is where our story turns happy!
We love our Wii!!
Thanks, Santa!
